Justification | This taxon has a widespread distribution, having an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 41 679 km² and is fairly common (known from 20 locations) but has a small area of occupancy (AOO) 88 km². There has been a significant decline in populations of this taxon over the last few decades due to illegal harvesting to supply the specialist succulent trade. It therefore qualifies as Near Threatened under criterion B. |
