Justification
This succulent shrub has a restricted range in the Lydenburg area and has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 2171 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 20 km². It is known from six to 10 locations and is experiencing an ongoing decline in the quality of habitat due to wood extraction and livestock overgrazing. It is therefore listed as Vulnerable under criterion B.

Description
It is found on dolomite hill slopes on wooded grassland.
Threats
It occurs in habitat that is being heavily degraded due to wood cutting for rural subsistence fuel use and livestock overgrazing. There has also been some past habitat loss due to rural housing development. It may lose habitat in the future due to the widening of road infrastructure.
Population

It is known from a few scattered individuals. Five subpopulations have been recorded, but a few more are likely to occur in unexplored, suitable habitat within its range. It is threatened by ongoing habitat degradation. The population trend is unknown but is inferred to be declining.
