A localized species (EOO 175 km²), known from four locations and potentially threatened by competition from alien invasive plants.

Description
Gentle, rocky lower north-facing sandstone slopes in fynbos.
Threats
Scattered alien invasive plants are present in the habitat, but at present there is no threat to this species. It may however outcompete native species in future if left unmanaged. The southern slopes of the Riviersonderend Mountains is already densely infested with alien invasive plants through lack of management action.
Population

A localized, but locally common species. The population is not suspected to be declining.
