This rare, range-restricted species with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of less than 10 km², is not threatened and its population is not suspected to be declining. It therefore qualifies as Endangered under criterion D.

Description
It is found in cracks and crevices in granite outcrops.
Threats
Overgrazing and degradation of communally owned rangelands due to severe overstocking is the most severe threat to plant species across the Richtersveld. This taxon is however not browsed, and its habitat provides it with protection against the effects of trampling and erosion.
Population

This species is known from two subpopulations from Rooiberg, each with about 50-100 plants. The population is not declining.
