Threats |
| Overgrazing and degradation of communally owned rangelands due to severe overstocking is the most severe threat to plant species across the Richtersveld. This taxon is however not browsed, and its habitat provides it with protection against the effects of trampling and erosion. |
Population |
This species is known from two subpopulations from Rooiberg, each with about 50-100 plants. The population is not declining.
