This species occurs in soutpansberg and Venda to the Mpumalanga Lowveld, also occurring in the Lebombo Mountains in eastern Swaziland.

Description
It grows in dry woody slopes, usually on gravelly soil, 300-1500 m.
Threats
Most of this species' habitat is well-protected within the Kruger National Park and it has no severe threats.

Notes
This species belongs in the recently reinstated genus Lasiosiphon (Beaumont et al. 2009). It is closely related to Lasiosiphon sericocephalus (Peterson 1966), but a combination has not yet been made for it in Lasiosiphon.
