Justification
This lithophytic or terrestrial species is widespread in South Africa and has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 34 572 km². It occurs at the Pondoland centre of endemism with an isolated record in Western Cape. There are between 16 and 23 locations. Although it is at risk of illegal harvesting it does not yet meet any of the criteria for a category of threat. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Range
This species is found mostly in the Pondoland centre of endemism in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu Natal provinces of South Africa, there is also an isolated record in the Western Cape Province from the Saasveld between George and Knysna.

Description
It grows in forest or along forest margins in partial shade on south-facing cliffs, and occasionally in full sun on rocky outcrops in grasslands.
Threats
The genus Stenoglottis is popular in horticulture, therefore, this species is potentially at risk from illegal harvesting.
