Justification
A rare species that occur in disjunct forest patches across South Africa. It has a specialised habitat, with an area of occupancy (AOO) of 76 km² and it is known from 20 locations. The population is declining due to illegal collection, and a reduction of 25% is suspected to have taken place in the past 30-60 years (generation length 10-20 years). It therefore nearly meets the criteria thresholds for Vulnerable under criterion A and B and is listed as Near Threatened.
