Justification
Marsilea apposita is known from only two collections in South Africa. The last collection was made in 1971. This species is too poorly known to determine its risk of extinction.

Mpumalanga Lowveld, and northern KwaZulu-Natal. Also occurs in Zimbabwe and eastern Botswana.
