Justification
This perennial species is endemic to Western Cape Province of South Africa where it has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 1340 km². It is known from five locations and there is ongoing decline in quality of habitat as a result of the spread of invasive alien plants. It therefore qualifies for listing as Endangered under criterion B.

Description
This perennial graminoid occurs on limestone-derived soils at elevations less than 200 m.a.s.l.
Threats
Its habitat is infested with alien invasive plants, but some subpopulations occur in protected areas where there has been ongoing efforts to clear invasive plants.
