Justification
A habitat specialist that grows in fire-protected sites, mostly in inaccessible areas. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) of 8 km². Alien invasive species are spreading within its habitat and pose a potential future threat. Since it is known from only two locations, it is listed as Vulnerable under criterion D.

It grows in fynbos, on moist cliff faces and rock ledges.
Threats
There are potential threats posed by alien invasive plants, mainly Pinus pinaster and, to a lesser degree, Hakea sericea and Acacia longifolia.
Population

This species was last recorded in 1973, and there is no recent information on the size and trend of the population. However, given its montane habitat, it is inferred to be stable.
