Justification
A rare resprouter with a restricted, high-altitude distribution. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) 60 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 16km². There are only three known subpopulations, two of which are experiencing ongoing declines in habitat quality due to the spread of invasive alien species. This species is therefore listed as Endangered under criterion B.

This species has a restricted distribution in the Riviersonderend Mountains, in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

Description
It occurs in fynbos on the high mountain summits.
Threats
Infestations by alien invasive species are impacting this species. The invasive species Acacia melanoxylon, Hakea sericea, and Pinus pinaster are present in two of the three known subpopulations.

The population is inferred to be declining due to habitat degradation from invasive alien species.
