Justification
A range-restricted habitat specialist with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 136 km² and known from fewer than five locations. The population is currently stable, though there are potential threats from the spread of invasive vegetation. This species is listed Vulnerable under criterion D.
Distribution
Endemism
South African endemic
Provincial distribution
Western Cape
Range
It is an endemic species to the Langeberg Mountains in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
Habitat and Ecology

Terrestrial
Major habitats
South Langeberg Sandstone Fynbos
Description
The species is localised on steep, moist, south-facing slopes and rock ledges.
Threats
The spread of invasive pines in the Langeberg Mountains has increased over the past decade, and pines have been seen growing within 100 m of one of the subpopulations monitored in 2023. Dense infestations of pine in the future will cause habitat loss. Currently, there are clearing efforts taking place, so invasion by pines remains a potential future threat.
Population

Subpopulations occur at high altitudes and have not yet been impacted by habitat degradation. The population is currently stable.
