Justification | A localized species to the southwest portion of the southern Agulhas plain with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 376 km². It occurs at between 10 and 15 threat defined locations. Some habitat has been lost to agriculture in the past especially in the Viljoenshof area. There are several thousand plants protected in the Waterford Bosluis Private Nature Reserve. While this restricted endemic was formerly listed as Rare, it has been uplisted to a status of Near Threatened under criterion B since alien plant infestations have become quite severe at a number of its known locations. |

Threats |
Invasive alien vegetation is currently infesting the habitat of this species causing ongoing degradation of habitat. There has also been a loss of subpopulations to crop cultivation in the past especially in the Viljoenshof (Wolwengat) area. |
