A range-restricted species with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 702 km² that is known from between six and 10 locations. Alien invasive species are causing ongoing decline in habitat quality to the majority of subpopulations. It is therefore listed as Vulnerable under criterion B.

This range-restricted species occurs from the Langeberg Mountains, Swellendam to Garcia's Pass, in the Western Cape province of South Africa.

Description
Its habitat is montane fynbos on sandstone slopes.
Threats
Most of the known locations are being directly impacted by invasive species i.e. Acacia sp., Pinus pinaster, and Hakea sp.

Due to the threat of alien plant species, the population is inferred to be declining.
