Justification
This naturally rare montane species that occurs as scattered stands of only a few individuals has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 4681 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 154 km². There are fewer than 10 locations known, and the population is declining as a result of severe infestations of invasive species. It is listed as Vulnerable under criterion B.

Threats
There are records of dense Hakea and Pinus infestations in parts of the species' range. Various Acacia species are also posing severe immediate threats to some subpopulations and a future potential threat to others. Two locations are suspected to have been lost due to the severity of the infestations. Too frequent fires are an additional threat in parts of this species range.
Population

Subpopulations are small, seldom consisting of more than a few plants. The population is declining due to habitat loss and severe infestations of invasive alien plants.
