This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 22 243 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 56 km². It is known from at least 13 subpopulations and has no severe threats. It is therefore assessed as Least Concern.

Description
Plants grow in sandy slopes.
Threats
This species may have been threatened by habitat loss due to infrastructure development in the Prince Albert area in the past. Expansion of agricultural crop farms in Matjiespoort near Brandwag is a potential threat to this species.
Population

It is known from seven historical collections with a date range of 1907 to 1997; it is also known from eight recent observation records on iNaturalist. As there are no direct threats to this species, the population is thought to be stable.
