Justification | This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 56 017 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 108 km². It is known from 20 locations which are suspected to be declining due to habitat degradation from livestock farming in the Northern Cape and competition from invasive alien species in the Western Cape. It is therefore listed as Near Threatened under criterion B. |

Threats |
This species is threatened by habitat degradation due to livestock farming in the Helskloof area. Competition from invasive alien species is an extremely severe threat to subpopulations in Riverlands, Kalkoond and Wemmershoek and this threat is projected to continue into the future. |

This species is known from 20 subpopulations and is the population is assumed to be declining due to habitat degradation from livestock farming and the impacts of invasive alien species.
