Justification
Bobartia lilacina is a restricted range montane species with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 384 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 44 km². It is known from three subpopulations, and is not threatened. It is therefore listed globally as Least Concern based on IUCN criteria, and nationally as Rare.

This species is a narrow endemic of the mountains from Bain's Kloof to Franschhoek Pass in the Western Cape province, South Africa.

Description
It is restricted to cooler, south-facing mountain sandstone slopes on shale, flowering mainly after fire.
