Justification
A range-restricted endemic to the Roggeveld Escarpment (EOO 880 km²), known from a few, scattered subpopulations. It is not suspected to be in danger of extinction.

Description
Heavy clay soils on stony slopes and among rocky outcrops near the upper edge of the escarpment, 1800 m.
Population

This species is known from only a few scattered subpopulations, and was previously thought to be rare. It is however fairly common in several places along the Roggeveld Escarpment (Goldblatt and Manning 1998). It is likely that more subpopulations exist in inaccessible places along the escarpment.
