Geissorhiza corrugata has a restricted distribution range, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 708 km². It has no severe threats and is therefore not suspected to be in danger of extinction.

This species is endemic to the Hantam escarpment around Calvinia.

It is localized to seasonally moist, clay soils derived from Karoo shale, on flats and slopes.
This species has lost about 10% of its habitat to crop cultivation in the past, but there has been no significant expansion of crop fields (less than 1% loss) over 24 years.

This species occurs in large subpopulations in suitable habitat (P. Goldblatt pers. comm.). The population is not suspected to be declining.
