Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 16 044 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 60 km². It is known from nine locations, and its habitat continues to decline due to livestock overgrazing. It is therefore listed as Vulnerable under criterion B.

Range
It is endemic to South Africa, and is found in the Northern and Western Cape, extending from southern Namaqualand and the western Karoo to Karoopoort.

Description
It occurs on rock outcrops, either in shale, sandstone, or marble.
Threats
This species has lost 8% of its habitat to crop cultivation in the past (calculated using landcover data in GIS). Its habitat continues to be degraded as a result of livestock overgrazing. There is also a potential threat to the subpopulation at Vanrhynsdorp posed by Gypsum mining.
Population

Despite being poorly known and inadequately documented, this species is widespread and quite common (Goldblatt and Manning, 2020). There is not much known about the population size of this species.
