Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 3 229 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 32 km². It is known from nine locations and is declining due to ongoing habitat loss. It is therefore listed as Vulnerable under criterion B.

Range
It is a Namaqualand endemic, extending from Garies in the Northern Cape to Nuwerus and the Knersvlakte north of Vanrhynsdorp in the Western Cape of South Africa.

Description
It occurs on stony granite or quartzitic slopes.
Threats
This species has lost 19% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS). It is under threat from agricultural impacts, especially with the raising of Clanwilliam dam wall and expanding agriculture in the Klaver area. Ongoing gypsum, limestone and other mining are also threats to the subpopulations that occur in the Knersvlakte.
Population

There is not much known about the population of this species. It occurs at nine locations. It was never common, so it is vulnerable to loss of any subpopulations.
