Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 65 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 12 km². It is known from three locations, and is threatened by habitat loss due to agricultural crop farming and human settlements. It therefore qualifies as Endangered under criterion B.

It is endemic to South Africa, and is restricted to coastal KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape, mainly in the sandstone belt from Durban to Port St Johns, possibly also in Zululand near Eshowe.

Description
It occurs in marshy grassland, vlei edges and streambanks.
Threats
This species has lost 22% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS) from ongoing human settlement and agricultural crop farming.

There is no indication of population size from the records. It is known from three locations and the population is inferred to be decreasing based on the threat of habitat loss.
