Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 747 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 20 km². It is known from four locations, which are not threatened. It is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1 Criteria, globally, as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare.

Range
It is endemic to South Africa, and is a montane species occurring at high elevations. It is found in the mountains of Western Cape, from the Hex River Mountains and Keeromsberg south to the Riviersonderend and Groot Drakenstein Mountains.

Description
It occurs in stony sandstone-derived soils, flowering well only after fire.
Threats
This species has no apparent threats.
Population

It is known from four subpopulations which are not threatened. There is no indication of population size of this species but the population is inferred to be stable.
