Justification
The species is endemic to the Western Cape and has a very restricted distribution to seasonally damp areas. It has an area of occupancy of less than 20 km², and is known from four locations that are potentially threatened by alien invasive plants. It is therefore listed as Vulnerable under criterion D.

The species is restricted to the southwestern comer of the Western Cape Province in South Africa, where it occurs from the Cape Peninsula to Hermanus.

Description
It is found on sandstone slopes, usually in damp sites.
Threats
Plantations may have been a threat in the past (probably more than three generations ago). This species is currently not threatened, however alien invasive plants are present in low densities in some parts of the range and are likely to be a threat in the near future if left unmanaged.
Population

This species can be common in wet areas after fire. It is known from four subpopulations. The population size is unknown, but it is thought to be stable. Monitoring is required to determine population size and trend.
