Justification
A range-restricted, but locally abundant species that has a national extent of occurrence (EOO) of 50 km². It is resilient to disturbance and therefore not in danger of extinction. It is therefore assessed as Least Concern.

Description
Plants grow on gravelly plains in the coastal fog belt of the southern Namib and northern Richtersveld.
Threats
It is threatened by habitat loss to mining and urban expansion.
Population

Although this taxon has lost habitat to mining and coastal urban development, it is an extremely resilient pioneer species, always one of the first to recolonize disturbed areas and old mine dumps. The overall population is therefore not suspected to be declining.
