Justification
Delosperma parviflorum is a poorly known species from a small area in the Eastern Cape. It is likely to be threatened by ongoing habitat loss and degradation, but based on currently available data, its risk of extinction cannot be assessed.
Distribution
Endemism
South African endemic
Provincial distribution
Eastern Cape
Range
The type collection is from Uitenhage (Manning and Goldblatt 2012), but the range possibly extends as far as Coega, Willowmore and Grahamstown.
Habitat and Ecology
Major system
Terrestrial
Major habitats
Willowmore Gwarrieveld, Steytlerville Karoo, Uniondale Shale Renosterveld, Southern Karoo Riviere, Albany Alluvial Vegetation, Sundays Valley Thicket, Motherwell Karroid Thicket, Eastern Gwarrieveld
Description
Its habitat is unknown: it is not described in the literature or on herbarium specimen labels.
Threats
Threats to this species are unknown. Due to the natural habitat of this species not being known, it is difficult to infer potential threats, but within its general distribution range, there is ongoing loss and degradation of natural vegetation mainly due to urban and industrial expansion around Uitenhage, Coega and Port Elizabeth.
Population

This species is known. It is possibly overlooked due to taxonomic confusion within Delosperma. The current population trend is not known, but it is possibly declining due to ongoing habitat loss and degradation across most of its range.

Population trend
Unknown
Notes
Delosperma is in need of taxonomic revision. Most species are poorly known, and difficult to identify with confidence.
