Justification | A range-restricted taxon endemic to the Namaqualand region of the South Africa's Northern Cape Province. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 51 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 12 km². Known from three locations, two of which occur within protected areas, it is potentially threatened by removal of plants from the wild due to illegal succulent collecting. It therefore qualifies as Vulnerable under criterion D2. |

Threats |
Very popular in cultivation and potentially threatened by illegal collection. While there is not yet evidence that this species has been collected there has been a significant increase in demand for Conophytums coming from Asian countries since March 2019 and this species may start to be harvested from the wild. |
Population |
This range-restricted taxon is known from three subpopulations. It is however locally abundant and subpopulations are large. The population is estimated to number at least 5000 individuals and is currently not declining.
